Online Documentation: Week 2

1. PITCH TO MUSEUM’S EDUCATION & OUTREACH OFFICE (Part of)

Aim

Jane’s workshops are artist-led, hands-on experiences for children and adults, where parent and child engage in a child-centred, art-rich learning environment that aids the child’s early learning and development in a holistic and integrated way. Jane’s methods aim to enliven children’s disposition for wonderment, excitement, curiosity, perseverance, and place an emphasis on the value of parentchild shared experiences.

The proposed series particularly aims to welcome new families to the Galway City Museum, familiarise young children with the space, and demonstrate to parents how the Museum is a warm, welcoming, child and toddler-friendly environment, which is ideal for family adventure, learning and shared experiences.

3. POST EVENT SOCIAL MEDIA POST

Thank you to all the WONDERFUL families who took part in my ‘A Sailing We Will Go’ early years workshop at the Galway City Museum on Saturday….we had so much fun!  It was magical for me personally to see the galleries full of our little citizens, because I really believe that all our cultural institutions should be little people friendly.  Do you feel that you and your young children are made to feel welcome in your local Gallery or Museum?  I’d love to hear your thoughts…   #cultureforkids #parentandtoddler #janeinmuseums #earlyyearsart #kidfriendly
